In 2017, Beth Reaves confided to the Board that she had been approached by another school with an offer that she could not turn down, the Headship of a school in Washington D.C. that was especially designed to educate African American girls. With mixed emotions, the Board bade her best wishes. In addition to the Costa Rica trip and the “Building Greatness” campaign, Beth had helped oversee the revision of the reading and writing curriculum, the consolidation of the school into two buildings, and, most important, the stabilization of the School’s enrollment after many years of decline.
