After the completion of the Facilities Master Plan, a silent fundraising phase began and successfully recruited some key early donors. This allowed the School to announce to the entire community the details of the capital campaign and the ambitious plans for this new and modern academic building. The beautifully produced case statement, designed by Keith Ragone with writing by Keith Wasserman and illustrations by Andrew Dodson, began with a quote from Henry David Thoreau, “If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them.” The materials included detailed sketches and plans for a fantastic new building designed by Friday Architects. With the case statement in hand and the help of consultant Bill Ravdin, key members of the School’s leadership including John Harkins, Ameline Pappas, and Keith Ragone began to hold individual meetings with donors to close the fundraising gap.
